We are excited to announce our upcoming event, Jewelry Making and Mimosas for a Cause, to benefit the kids we support in Nigeria

Where: Jewelry Creations Workshop – 1400 Northeast 131st Street, North Miami, Fl 33161

This is a one-day only, 2-hour class where students will have the opportunity to create one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry that they can take home, wear and show off their new metalsmithing skills! Students will be creating beautiful wire pendants. They will learn what it takes to bend, shape and form amazing designs as well as incorporate beads for a bright pop of color! The best part? (other than the jewelry, of course!) Every dime raised from the event is being donated to benefit orphan children in Nigeria.

Mangoes to Share began as a Miami based community project in 2013 by Anna Milaeva. Its initial focus was on feeding the homeless with neighbors’ mango surplus. Volunteers would meet and collect upwards of 500 pounds of mangoes in a single afternoon to donate to the hungry. As the nonprofit gained momentum, Anna realized there was more they could do. In the last four years the organization has grown, now focusing its efforts to work with underprivileged communities to alleviate hunger and poverty. Partnering with the Lovatt Foundation, an umbrella for a group of small-scale Nigerian community projects based in Kano, Nigeria, Mangoes to Share will have an even greater impact. The Lovatt Foundation has helped over 500 displaced people to re-start their lives. They’ve built 6 homes for young orphans whose families were murdered. They focus on sustainable food growing practices, traditional education, literacy, arts and long-term recovery of the children.

We’d love if you could share our event with your contacts and on your social media.
